Dark Gothic Romance

Remember that trend last A/W season when beautiful laces were rendered in dark romance by Prada, Givenchy, Chanel and Alexander McQueen, just to name a few? I'm not much of a lace/sheer person, but I decided to give it a try to give my outfit a twisted feel.

Now back to regular programming where I run around in panic mode for my trip. Gotta run some more errands peeps. Later!

Hysteria Kicking In

Woke up today with a message on my YM that I had to fly a week earlier than scheduled. Eeek! That gives me less than 2 weeks to work on, oh well just... everything. OMGeeeee!!!!!

I knew something like this would happen. Good thing I'm ahead of schedule with most of my tasks at work. But then I have to go book tickets for the new dates and it seems that seats are running out. That or they're waayyyy overpriced. And don't get me started on my connecting flights and hotel reservation. *Sigh*

It's amazing how I can still blog with my frayed nerves right now.

Reckless Driver Ahead

Yeah, trust me, you don't want this gurl driving near you. Who in the world would with that goofy face? Ha!

I ran a lot of errands yesterday and even had a few hours to spare. So I decided to start on my shopping list for my upcoming trip. I felt that I accomplished a lot on the list and I'm even ahead of schedule. Which is also good since they changed my schedule at work for next week.

I also got home to a dinner party in full swing. Some of my dad's friends came over. I was too deadbeat to socialize for more than an hour. Tired much, thus the short post.

Press the Panic Button

A few more weeks and I'll be flying out. I'm now starting to feel panicky at the same time trying to keep my cool. Not an easy task by the way.

So I made a list of things that I need to buy to take with me:

comfy wide-legged trousers - perfect for the long-haul flights

maxi dress - again, it's all about comfort

oversized carry-on bag - it's gotta be big to keep all my essentials handy

chic & light jacket - when the tropical gurl in me can no longer handle the cold

more plain basic tees - which I can pair with almost everything

black leggings - for those chilly nights, & they're lightweight to the baggage

a pair of black bikini - 'coz there's a beach right across our place

gym membership - so I can fit into the bikini. LOL.

I'm not a practical traveller and there's no chore I hate more that packing (Karl knows this best!). So if there's anything else I need to bring with me, tips I need to know, reminders, etc. please shoot me an email/leave me a comment... before my hysteria kicks in.

Flying First Class

I wish!

I'm flying to the US next month for a vacay so I'm getting frantic preparing for the trip. I'm trying to keep my cool but sometimes it's just oh so hard.

I've been busy buying comfy shoes, carry-all bags and wardrobe staples (more plain white shirts) to bring along the trip. I'm finding it hard to go by without my shoe collection but I have to unless I decide to pay for extra baggage.

I just comfort myself with the knowlege that the lesser I bring on my way there, the more loot I can bring back home. Ha!

Lots of polka dot action here. Should have worn this during New Year, eh?

Another One For The Stars

Lucky celebrities...

Scarlett Johansson for Dolce & Gabbana's new makeup line

Scarlett looks gorgeous in this Marilyn Monroe rendition. But I can't help and notice that she looks airbrushed and photoshopped.

Audrina Patridge for Divine Rights of Denim

I actually did not recognize her in this photo. She kinda looks like Jessica Beil here during her dark-haired days.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Nothing calms me down better than hearing the song Easy Like Sunday Morning. I don't care if you say that I act like an old hag for liking this song 'coz I really do.

This song is originally by Lionel Richie but I have Faith No More's version of it in my iPod. And I was also surprised that our dear Justin Timberlake actually made a version of it too. Too bad I can't find a decent video of it from YouTube. But I found this one done by Westlife.

I also decided to take it easy yesterday, Sunday, and wore a simple outfit. I just featured again my new "IT" color, tan.

Failing This Sobriety Check

I just can't get over Pink's latest song, SOBER. The video showcases great rock & roll couture and heels to die for.

Lovin' the song's line that goes:
I don't wanna be the girl that has to fill the silence...
The quiet scares me 'cause it screams the truth.

Now I know it's a weekend and most of you were out partying last night. But since I work on weekends, I was being the good girl that I am and worked on some deadlines in my own little cubicle.

Ignore the fact that I picked a song titled Sober for a topic today. And completely ignore as well that I look so wasted in the photos. I swear I was just working... *hik*

A Dark Cloud & Bad Omen

I only have enough time today to make a quick post. I have a few deadlines hanging over my head like a dark cloud and a bad omen.

This white number, I'm imagining of wearing during the summer with an itsy bitsy bikini underneath. I wish! Lol.

Size 10 & Barely 5 Ft. Tall

I did notice that color blocking was so hot on the fashion runways last year. So when I found this dress at a thrift shop, I immediately grabbed it and felt like I was on cloud nine.

....That was until I realized that I wasn't a size-zero-6ft.-tall model. The horizontal color blocks were just not going to work for my size-10(?)-and-barely-5ft.-tall frame. But because I have a head as hard as a rock, I insited on finding a way to wear it else I'll feel cheated with my money spent. (Even though it was entirely my fault. But still.)

Check out how it turned out. Cross fingers.

2 Extra Shots of Espresso

Don't you just hate Mondays? Well I work on weekends so my version of a Monday is actually on Thurdays.

And as usual, I did not get any decent sleep so I decided to grab my venti-sized caramel macchiato with 2 extra shots of espresso before going to work. Talk about hyperactive. Some things a gurl just can't live without. It's called survival in this jungle, baby!

I'm Lucky I'll Never Need a Fake Tan

Tanning salons will never earn a single cent from this gurl. Ha! I don't need a fake bake and risk looking orange-y. Think Bride Wars orange-y. Yikes!

Speaking of tan, another fashionista, Glamarazzi of Style Cebu, and I agreed over Plurk that the color tan is the new "IT" color of the moment. So I went gaga shopping and wearing every tan item I could find. Just in a single day alone, I got to wear two outfits, with a little mix and match of course.

Maybe for work...

So Scandalous Of Me

As if it was not enough that I wear a sexy secretary pencil skirt, it also had to be in electric purple shock too. Ha! I always hated being reduced to a social cliché even when I'm sometimes guilty of it too.

To have worn black in the office would have been oh so boring.

And yes, I'm fully aware that the photos do not translate the electric purple I described the skirt as. I'm sans my cam once again so I had to make do with my phone cam. It just doesn't do it any justice, I almost feel cheated.

On me: electric purple pencil skirt, balloon-sleeved cardigan, random wide belt, unknown pumps, Mags watch bracelet

Shedding the Lbs.

I once saw this beach photo of Jennifer Love Hewitt months ago and thought she looked like she put on some weight. But then again, it could have been another Tyra-Banks-beach-photo sensationalized again. But seeing Ms. Hewitt lately made me realize that she really DID gain weight and was able shed the lbs. amazingly.

All these photos are making my head spin with thoughts of following suit. Hmmm....
Mom, I suddenly lost my appetite.

This Used To Be My Playground

Spotted: OverdressedMe seen visiting her old high school grounds after years of being MIA. Could she be thinking of chatting up with her old teachers? Or should I say an old flame of hers? Careful Blair, you might lose your precious Chuck over her.

xoxo Gossip Girl

Lol. That was fictitious but fun!

Photos in this entry were taken at my old high school grounds. I used to be this conscious, fat & dorky girl in a blue jumper uniform. A far cry from the Queen B's & S's of these days.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

While I was peacefully updating myself w/ the things I've missed over the weekend, I was bombarded with a load of my fave girls on new ad campaigns.

Victoria Beckham for Emporio Armani

Katie Holmes for Miu Miu

Lindsay Lohan for Fornarina

Now not because they're my fave doesn't mean I like thier ads. I'm actually just feeling lukewarm over these ads. I even feel that some are silly and too cliche.
Let's just wait and see how it pans out.

And on a different note. It looks like someone was given a free hand on some shimmery tanning bronzer. Shoutout for Paula Abdul: PUHLEEEZZZ!!!

That's all.

Sweet Home Alabama

I finally got to wear my infamous "bakya" (wooden heels). It kinda reminds me of country living... rolling pastures, cornfield, etc. It's almost domesticated. Ooohhh, it gives me the shivers!

Met up with my friend Karl yesterday for lunch. And yeah, he's probably gonna sue me this time for mentioning his name here again. So name-dropper of me. Lol.

On me: sweetheart-cut fringed dress, embroidered white shirt, CLN wooden sandals

Warm and Toasty

It has been really cold & windy here lately. Must be why I'm getting sick a lot. I finally went back to work after my 4-day leave, which was spent most of the time at home. I know, so bitter of me. Anyway, I needed something really comfortable, warm & cozy, like a blanket that I could curl into. I remembered this hooded top I had from a trend years ago and thought it was perfect!

I just added the jacket since the striped top was cap-sleeved and I didn't want to freeze to death in the cold. The jacket also worked on updating the top's old trend. And most importantly, it gave me a waist despite the horizontal stripes. I know, so vain of me. Lol.

That's Glamour For You

While cruisin' the mall with my dear friend Sky, we came upon this stall selling accessories galore. I went gaga buying gazillions of their trendy and hot items. And the good new is, they are so freaking affordable! Most of their items were only at Php50 and I didn't find anything that went beyond Php100. Yes, too good to be true.

Unfortunately, they didn't sell any rings. And I'm in dire need of a statement ring (an exaggeration!). So on we went in search for one. While doing this, we dropped by this other stall selling accessories and we saw that they had some of the same items that I bought. But here's the catch, they sell them at a whooping price of Php150.

That means, this is another cheapthrill for us! Love it! The brand's name is 4UGlamour and do check them out at The Maze in Ayala. I'm on my way back there right now to get some more goodies. Later!

You're Such a Tease

I thought I was already fever-&-headache-free so I went out to catch up on what I've been missing on my 4-day leave from work. I met up with my dear friend Sky and had light dinner & a little shopping on the side. We also went on a photoshoot frenzy at Postrio and the crew was kind enough to indulge our every vain & selfish request. e.g. "The light here is not so good on my skin tone. Can you turn on the yellow light please?" Lol.

I felt something was wrong with my left eye the entire time (so glad I was wearing my sunnies despite being indoors). Turned out that I was experiencing another episode of eye irritation due to my history of eye contact use. Thus the reason why my eye is red & swollen right now. I'm even thinking of wearing an eye patch tomorrow at work if only I won't look like some Pirates-of-the-Caribbean-wannabe.

And so, while I recover from my multitude of sickness, I'll leave you with the scene when Sky and I parted ways for each of our homes:

(in a cab where I'm about to drop Sky off)

Sky: D***ng is a distant relative of mine and we had wild sex together. I'll leave you with that and that's all I'm gonna say.
OverdressedMe: Oh Sky, you're such a tease. Tata, darling.
Sky: (laugh out loud) Bye, darling. (Sky gets off the cab with a smirk on his face.)

Cab Driver: What is he? Gay?
OverdressedMe: (only giggles)

On me: another mustard top (thrifted still), unknown black skinnys, Norma Desmond bracelet, CLN pumps, Figlia oversized bag
